September 19, 2023 Minutes of the Meeting of the Charlotte Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors Minutes The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by Mr. Mike Elfenbein, chairman of the District. All of the supervisors were present as follows, Mike Elfenbein, Sue Hill, David Schutz, Lisa Baird and Patrick Maley. Also present at the meeting was Ralph Mitchell. 1. Call to order 2. Welcome and Introductions 3. Minutes of previous meeting – Lisa Baird 4. Treasurer’s Report – Sue Hill / Patrick Maley a. New signers need for account: Patrick Maley & David Schutz. b. Sue Hill notified the supervisors that she will be vacating her position in the next few months. A move was made by Sue Hill to appoint Patrick Maley and David Schutz as signers on the account for the Charlotte Soil and Water Conservation District. The move was seconded by Mike Elfenbein and unanimously approved. 5. Old Business a. Discussed grant opportunities. 6. New Business a. Reviewed current Mission & Vision and agreed to update them using an active voice. Drafted “Elevator Pitch” using David’s presentation from last year. b. 3 Priority Items: Build a list of growers in our area, Create an outreach plan, implement our outreach plan. c. Patrick discussed his meeting with Manatee Soil and Water Conservation District. Some fundraising ideas include a gun Raffle and Farm Tours. • Manatee County Farm Tour 11/17 7.
